Yesterday I went to a seminar on what happens in the Music section, which was very interesting. They seem to go through very similar procedures to what we do in Legal Deposit, but with extra musical elements. Most useful was finally crystallising the differences between an ISBN, an ISSN and an ISMN, and realising that these are not randomly generated when the book is printed, but are actually requested beforehand. The numbers also mean various things (now I finally know what a check digit is, but don't ask me to explain it).I think the people in Music might have something to say about this, i.e that it's prime library material!
